Anna Schwake
Anna’s research in the MacIntosh lab seeks to characterize the lipid metabolism in the guts of flies, specifically to probe the role of lysosome-associated protein Lamp1. Dr. MacIntosh highlighted that Anna consistently demonstrated initiative and independence, with her work justifying inclusion in a future publication, with Anna as one of the contributing authors. In our BBMB Community, Anna serves as an active member of Stupka Symposium and as Vice President of Biochemistry Club. Outside of BBMB, Anna enjoys reading, crocheting, and hiking. After graduating from Iowa State, Anna plans to pursue a Master’s degree before venturing out into the industry either in the United States of Germany.
